On November 19th we held a celebration of volunteers and members - our annual Thanks for Giving Party! We had over 100 attendees, and the energy in the room as we celebrated this past year and looked ahead to 2016 was electric!
The night kicked off with a look back at the successes of the Coalition in 2015 - successes that were all made possible by the hard work and support from the members and volunteers in the room. We were then treated to a preview of where the Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition is headed for 2016 and beyond - look for a blog post soon with more details of our new strategic plan that will take us into 2020.
The preview was followed by a round of awards for the various volunteer groups, committees, and members who had such an impact this year. They all got a golden award of some sort - the Board got a golden strategic plan, and the Fun Committee got a gold pumpkin in recognition of their fun pumpkin ride they led. The Downtown Group even got a surprise visit from a golden Matthew Dyrdahl - the Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator for the City of Minneapolis! This was followed by fun games and more info about how to get further involved in our work as part of our "Speed Mixer".
Thank you again to everyone who signed up as a member or volunteered for the Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition this year! Even if you weren't able to make it to the Thanks for Giving celebration, your contribution helps make our work possible!
