Join us this Sunday September 30th for Open Streets University of Minnesota + Motley, the last Open Streets Minneapolis of the year! Open Streets Minneapolis events are free events that temporarily close major thoroughfares to car traffic, opening them up for people walking, biking, rolling, and playing. Check out the Open Streets University of Minnesota + Motley Facebook page or the event webpage for more details. Here are some events that I’m especially excited to see at Open Streets UMN + Motley!
1. Improv Parenting
Location: northwest corner of 15th Ave SE and University Ave SE
Let your creativity shine at the Improv Parenting booth! This nonprofit arts organization will have street improvisational theater performances and fun, interactive games for the whole family!
2. Voter Registration Booth
Location: northwest corner of 17th Ave SE and University Ave SE
Are you registered to vote? If not, what are you waiting for? Swing by 17th Ave SE and University Ave SE so the folks at the booth can tell you about the benefits of voting and get you registered for the upcoming election. Your voice matters!
3. Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee

Immigrant rights are human rights! Come support MIRAC’s mission by partaking in resistance art activities and learning more about your own rights through educational resources!
4. Motley

Join Motley, Minneapolis’ newest innovative neighborhood, for City Jenga and conversation with the district's planners!
5. Our Streets Minneapolis

Say cheese! On the corner of SE Washington Ave and SE Oak St, local photographer Steve Ozone will be taking portraits for anyone who wants one. Come share your Open Streets Minneapolis experience!
7. North Star Ski Touring Club

Winter is coming...so why not embrace it with the North Star Ski Touring Club? This outdoor recreation group for all ages looks forward to snow…so they’re bringing it to Open Streets in the form of a "snowstorm" in a tent! Come check it out!
