Our Streets Minneapolis is seeking a staff leader who is passionate about our work to create a city where biking, walking and rolling are easy and comfortable for everyone.

This person will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of Our Streets Minneapolis, and serve three key roles:

• Lead our small-but-mighty staff, supporting their professional development and working to create a positive, inclusive office culture
• Work with the Board of Directors to develop and carry out the organizational strategy, including leading on our advocacy strategy
• Oversee the administrative, financial, fundraising, and programmatic operations of the organization

We are open to hiring on contract or in a permanent capacity. The specific job duties of the staff leader will be negotiated based on the candidate’s interests and skills and the needs of Our Streets Minneapolis. Starting salary: $67,500 plus benefits.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a flexible and emotionally intelligent leader who is excited to help us chart a path forward in a time of transition. 2019 will be a year of strategic thinking, as we determine how to build on our successes, develop long-term funding streams, work towards advancing equity in our organization, and consider our work in the context of the climate crisis.

Comfort with ambiguity and uncertainty, interest and experience in fundraising, financial acumen, and the ability to think strategically and manage internal and external expectations will be key to success at this time.

This role requires a combination of confidence and humility: on a typical day you’re likely to both sit across the table from an elected official and take out the recycling. The staff leader must be comfortable sharing knowledge and power with staff and volunteers.
