The time is now to make your voice heard on the proposed North Minneapolis Greenway
Would you like to see additional greenways in Minneapolis? If so, now is a great time to voice your support. The Minneapolis Health Department is wrapping up the current phase of planning for the North Minneapolis Greenway with an online survey that closes this Friday, Feb. 22. The project is still in the early planning stages, and now is an ideal time to provide feedback that will influence the route and design of the project.
For much of the route, a complete street-to-park conversion is proposed. This innovative park design is explained further on the Health Department's website.
The focus at this point is on the North Minneapolis route, however this design is intended to be a model for street-to-park conversions that could someday be implemented in other neighborhoods. If you don't live in North Minneapolis, but would like to see Minneapolis move forward with this project so that a street-to-park conversion can be replicated in your neighborhood, this surveyis one option for making your voice heard.
