Come help us celebrate the beauty of bike trails while working to keep them beautiful for all to use!
Hiawatha Light Rail Trail is in need of some TLTR (tender loving trash removal, that is)! In celebration of Earth Day (technically Saturday, April 22 but we're celebrating a day early) we are hosting a trash pick-up event along the Hiawatha Light Rail Trail on Friday, April 21. We're looking for lots of help to clean up the stretch of trail from the Cedar-Riverside Blue Line station south to the 26th St intersection (see map for details).
Need some incentives? We've got you covered: volunteers will receive a free t-shirt AND treats kindly donated by Butter Bakery!
Meet up at Brian Coyle Center at 5:30pm to receive your t-shirt, enjoy some snacks, and then we'll break into groups and tackle that trash! We'll conclude at 7:30pm.
If you have gardening and/or some other kind of heavy-duty gloves, please bring them! We will provide disposable latex gloves to those who would like to wear them.
Finally, we ask that you RSVP so we know how many snacks and t-shirts to bring.
