Tell MPRB to Make Cedar Lake Regional Park Inclusive to All

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is in the final phase of a Cedar Lake/ Lake of the Isles Master Planning Process. The plan will guide the future of Cedar Lake, Lake of the Isles, and surrounding parkland, Dean Parkway, Kenilworth Channel, and a portion of the Cedar Lake Regional Trail for the next 20 to 30 years. The public comment period ends on March 10, 2023.

Every Sunday in Bogotá, Colombia, over 70 miles of streets are closed to motor vehicle traffic and opened to the community. From 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., one million people are able to cycle, roll, and walk freely down the main streets of the city without fear of cars, noise pollution, and exhaust fumes. This is Ciclovía: the event that inspired the Open Streets movement around the world. Since 1974, Ciclovía has been a beloved part of Bogotán city life.

Open Streets Minneapolis Announces 2023 Schedule

Open Streets Minneapolis, the highly-anticipated event series that closes city streets to motor vehicle traffic, will kick off the 2023 season on June 10, 2023, on East Lake Street. The summer event series promotes livable communities that support cycling, walking, rolling, and other non-motor means of travel and offers unique programming and vendors for an activity-packed day of neighborhood fun.
