National Night Out is the first Tuesday of every August, and is this Tuesday, August 2. This annual event is a great time to get together with your neighbors! Registered National Night Out events can be found here.
Does your block have an active block club? Block clubs work in cooperation with police to close neighborhood blocks to vehicles, to gather in the streets and connect on a lovely summer evening. (Rain date August 3rd.)

I usually like to spend an hour at my block party, and then bike around and check out other blocks in my neighborhood. It is so peaceful with the reduced and rerouted traffic, and the laughter of children fills the streets.
