Franklin Avenue Corridor Study
Hennepin County is performing a corridor study for Franklin Avenue. There will be upcoming opportunities to show support for safer street infrastructure for people who travel by wheelchair, bicycle, foot or transit. Stay tuned for more or reach out to get involved.
Blaisdell Avenue Bollards
The City recently installed bollards on Blaisdell Avenue. While we support this action we know that it isn’t the safest solution for people who travel by bicycle.

County Budget
Hennepin County is releasing their 5-year capital improvement plan for infrastructure. It’ll be important for us to comment on the current plan and lack of quick build infrastructure improvements to make some of the most dangerous streets in our city safe for people who walk, bike, and use wheelchairs to get around.
Name Change
Our Streets Minneapolis is considering changing the name of the Downtown Bikeways and Pedestrian Work Groups to create a more accurate and inclusive brand for what we do. Some ideas:
- People for Safer Streets Work Group
- People who Roll Work Group
- People who Bike Work Group
- People on Wheels Work Group
Future Meetings
In the future, the meetings are likely to be focused on strategy and around taking actions (e.g. letter writing)
