The Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition is seeking a fundraising consultant from spring 2013 to fall 2013. This individual will work closely with the Coalition’s fundraising and Open Streets committees, collaborate with the Coalition’s event and volunteer coordinators, and build relationships with contacts from local businesses and grant-making organizations.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong track record of success in business-, grant-, and event-related fundraising and have experience in engaging volunteers in fundraising. The ideal candidate should also demonstrate strong familiarity with the local bike community and, in particular, bike-friendly businesses in Minneapolis and the surrounding region.

Volunteer Coordinator Consultant

The deadline has also been extended for the part-time volunteer coordinator position, which will support the organization for general and event-specific activities for the remainder of 2013. The overarching goal for general organizational work is to support and build our capacity to engage volunteers. The goal for the event-specific activities is to implement all volunteer coordination tasks related to four car-free Open Streets events. This position may include physical labor, such as moving boxes and riding a bike.

Your Questions for Candidates Needed!

Local Election Candidate Questionnaire: Call for Ward-Specific Questions!

In preparation for November’s city counselor, mayoral, and park board elections, the Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition will be distributing questionnaires to all candidates. Our goal is to make sure our candidates are thinking about bike-related issues here in Minneapolis, to gauge their level of support for biking and walking in Minneapolis, find out their opinions on various projects and street improvements, and to make this information available to voters.

Minneapolis is divided into 13 wards. The map looks like this:

In November, each ward will elect a city counselor to represent them to the City of Minneapolis for the next four years.

We want to make sure that our candidate questionnaire gets to the heart of issues YOU care about. What do you want to know from your city council candidate? Do you have an open-ended question for your candidate about a specific street or project in your neighborhood?

Post your ward specific questions below or email them to ([email protected]) by February 25, 2013.

Not sure what ward you live in? Check out http://apps.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/AddressApp/SearchByAddress.aspx?AppID=WardFinderApp to find out.

Thanks and send those questions in soon!
