Contribution for First Bike Meter Secured!

A sincere thanks goes out to Liz Walton, the first individual to make a contribution for the new bike meter racks. Liz is not an Uptown business owner but visits often and wanted to make a difference. She has opted for her bike rack to go outside of her hair salon – Salon Levante – where her stylist rides a bike to work but does not have secure bike parking available. Way to make a difference, Liz!

The City of Minneapolis is converting old parking meters to new parking stations and additional bike parking can be added for a cost of $50 per meter. The deadline to contribute is April 1, 2012.

Individual donors can head to here to make a donation. Business owners, co-workers, friends, family can donate this way to get parking outside of their job or favorite free-time haunt.

This is the most cost effective way for businesses to obtain bike parking for their customers, two spots for $50, right outside the business without giving up useful space.

Make bike parking happen – donate today!
