Come Out and Support a Better Franklin Avenue Bridge

Tonight (Monday, Sept. 9), Hennepin County is hosting a public meeting to discuss the planned rehabilitation of the Franklin Avenue Bridge over the Mississippi, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Saint Frances Cabrini Church, 1500 Franklin Ave SE.

The current layout for the new bridge looks amazing: a bike lane in each direction, physically separated from traffic by a concrete barrier, next to a much wider pedestrian space. It would be great to have supporters in the room to thank Hennepin County for bringing forward such a fantastic protected bikeway, and to make the case for it at this public meeting.

You can follow along with the project here.
