Roll on Down to Lake Street and Minnehaha Ave this Sunday for Open Streets!

This Sunday, July 23rd, Lake Street and Minnehaha Ave will be OPEN for our community to explore, celebrate, and enjoy while walking, biking, and rolling. Here's a sneak peek of some of the main attractions so you can plan out your day accordingly.

With nearly 4 MILES OF OPEN STREETS, you're bound to need some fuel to keep you pushing and pedaling through the entire route... Here's some of the food vendors that will gladly keep your energy levels up and your taste buds satisfied.

 

Bilicsan Resturant, Ingebretsen's, La Patita, Minneapolis Public Schools, Parkway Pizza, Peace Coffee, Super Mercado Morelia, the Food Group, SSSDUDENUTZ, Nordic Waffles, Gandhi Mahal, Sonny's Cafe, Dogwood Coffee, Las Delicias de Mi Tierra, Frio Frio, Wild Earth Fired Mobile Pizza, Platense, El Pollo de los Santos, Taco Taxi, Pepperjax Grill Philly Express, MN Nice Cream, Stanley's Food Truck, and Kona Ice Twin Cities

That's a lot of opportunities to try out all of the delicious food that Lake Street and Minnehaha Avenue have to offer, and it doesn't even include the Midtown Global Market!

YWCA Midtown will keep the fun going with scheduled activities ALL DAY at 21st Ave

11:00 am - Story time / 11:30 - Face painting /12:00 - Photo booth prize giveaway / 1:00 - Street Dance Fitness Class /2:30 - Sink or Float Science Experiment / 3:00 - Activity time / 3:30 - Jump Rope Contest / 4:00 - Hula Hoop contest /4:30 Engineering Giant Bubbles

20160724-DSC_0268_(1).jpg-At Lake Street and Hiawatha there will be a Farmer's Market as well as an all-day BREAK DANCE COMPETITION
-Midtown Global market will host music and dance in the street by Lake Street and Elliot Ave
-The Kids Zone will be located at Minnehaha Ave and 41st Street with lots of fun games for the little ones
-And Tapestry Folkdance Center will lead a group dance session with dances from around the world from 2-3pm

 

Open Streets isn't complete without music so that we can all keep Dancing in the Streets!

20160724-DSC_0511.jpgMidtown Global Market will have a DJ jamming out all day, as well as music from the Roe Family Singers at 1pm, and Siama and Dallas at 2:30pm.

The MPRB Showmobile Stage will be located on Lake Street and 19th Ave with bands playing throughout the day.

Open Streets Lake + Minnehaha is forecast to be a beautiful day.
